Paying your rent

Open Rent in the portal. The How to pay card shows your landlord's payment instructions and your payment code. Paying your landlord directly costs no fee.

Put your payment code in the memo or note. Your landlord uses it to see which lease the payment is for. Use the copy button next to the code so you do not mistype it.

If your landlord has turned on online payments, a Pay online card also appears. Choose Pay now to pay by card. The page shows an estimate of the fee before you pay. A payment through Sproutly shows a receipt. A payment from your own bank shows on your bank statement.

If your landlord has not added payment instructions, the page says so. Use the link to ask in Messages how they want to be paid.

  1. Open Rent and read the How to pay card.
  2. Pay your landlord the way the instructions say: Zelle, bill-pay from your bank, or a check. Put your payment code in the memo.
  3. If you see a Pay online card, you can choose Pay now instead. Check the fee estimate first.
  4. Look at Charges on the same page to see what is due and what is paid.
