Pay-or-quit notices

How a pay-or-quit notice period is counted depends on the law. Sproutly does not count it for you. Check Code of Civil Procedure 1161 at the official source, or ask an attorney, then enter the notice period in days and the effective date.

Sproutly adds the days you entered to the service date, shows the result, and tracks it. You confirm the date before you approve.

The amount on the notice comes from your ledger and from what you enter. Check the figure yourself, and check whether late fees or other charges belong in it, before you serve.

  1. Open Properties, then Leases, choose the lease and start the pay-or-quit notice there. Money, then Rent lists who is behind.
  2. Enter the notice period and confirm the rent amount owed. The notice then waits under Legal, then Notices.
  3. Read the effective date, serve the paper copy, then choose Approve and record service.
  4. Watch the deadline under Legal, then Deadlines.
